Dr. Bob and Gladys Besancon Day!
September 12, 2002 was declared "Dr. Bob and Gladys Besancon Day" by the city of North Charleston. Mayor Keith Summey honored Dr. Bob and Gladys for their 34 years of faithful service to their church and to the citizens of North Charleston. A wonderful resolution was adopted unanimously by North Charleston City Council and was read by the clerk. Mayor Summey also had some wonderful things to say about Dr. Bob and "Miss B." After presenting them both with a plaque and declaring Thursday to be "Dr. Bob and Gladys Besancon Day", both Dr. Bob and his wife expressed their thanks and gave glory to God for all the honor given to them and for helping them over the past 34 years.
